Baldwin Named to Men’s BB All-Conference Team

Illiwa Baldwin, the 6’10” Brisbane, Australia native, was named to the First Team All Jayhawk Western Division. Baldwin was the Western Division rebounding leader, averaging over 10 rebounds per game. While recognized for his dominating defensive presence, Baldwin was also the #11 scorer in the West, averaging 13.4 points/game.
 
Baldwin was #1 in total rebounds and #1 in offensive rebounds, grabbing 112 offensive boards for 4.31/game. On the defensive end, Baldwin hauled in 162 for a 6.23 average and a second place ranking. He also was ranked #6 in blocks with 41 for a 1.58/game average.
  
His highest rebound total was 17 against Cowley on November 18th. He also grabbed 15 against Colby and 13 against Neosho, Garden, and NOK-Enid. Baldwin pulled down seven offensive boards on three occasions during the season. 
  
“Illi performed at both ends of the court for us this year,” said Head Coach Trevor Rolfs. “We knew he could block, change shots, and rebound. What we worked on was having him become more of an offensive threat, and his 13 points per game is evidence that he significantly improved his offensive performance. He was at 10 points and 6 rebounds per game last year. Going to 13 points and 10 rebounds shows how much he worked in the off-season to improve his game. He’s a great young man who I’m sure will continue to have a stellar college career.”
