"Seussical—TYA" is a shortened version of "Suessical the Musical "with music by Stephen Flaherty, lyrics by Lynn Ahrens and book by both Ahrens & Flaherty. The musical is based on the works of Dr. Seuss featuring some of his most iconic characters: The Cat in the hat, who acts as the narrator, and Horton, the faithful elephant. Horton is joined in the jungle by Gertrude McFuzz, who is focused on her one tail feather; Mayzie, whose vanity leaves her confused as to what to do with her egg; and Sour Kangaroo, who is full of attitude. Joining the story are the families of Whoville including solo roles by the Mayor of Whoville and his Wife, who are facing the challenges of parenting Jo-Jo.
