Business class comes up with marketing plan to promote products

Release Date:
Friday, March 18, 2011

Knowing about the product, the group that is being targeted and the budget are all things this semesters Intro to Business class had to consider when making a marketing plan.

Junnae Landry had her student’s breakup into groups and pick a product which they wanted to come up with a marketing plan for. They also had to be able to visually display it in the case by room 24.

The students are given the assignment at the beginning of the semester and starting March 14 each groups project will be displayed for two weeks in the display case. The students were required to work on a limited budget, and were allotted $10 for every student in their group.

“This makes students recognize a business plan and know that a marketing plan is just a small portion of that,” Landry said. “It’s not just a matter of going out and selling an item. It makes them realize that they have to think about the budget, demographics and how they are going to sell it.”

After each project has been displayed in the case the students will conduct a survey to people at the college asking what they remember about each display and if they believed in the product being sold.
