Lady Beavers Receive All-Region Honors
The Pratt Community College Softball Team placed five players on the All-Region Team this season.
Bre Beckerman, a sophomore from Inman, was honored as the First Team All-Region Utility Player as well as Second Team All-Conference Utility Player. Beckerman, the Lady Beaver Capitan, received the honors due to her work in the circle, as well as her work at second and third base this season.
Molly Baker, a freshman from Rose Hill, was awarded the honor for First Team All-Region Infielder. Baker, the lead off hitter for the Lady Beavers, split her time between first base and managing the pitching staff behind the plate.
Ashton Neumann, freshman short stop from Pratt, was also awarded First Team All-Region Infield. Neumann started every game for the Lady Beavers at shortstop and provided a spark many times throughout the season offensively.
Samantha Rice, freshman pitcher from Topeka, was honored Second Team All-Region for her efforts as a relief pitcher this season. Rice became an extremely important asset in the Lady Beaver Pitching Staff towards the end of the season by going in and closing out many games.
Demi Riecke, a freshman from Lakewood, Colo., was the final Beaver to be honored. Riecke, who also split her time between first base and catching, was awarded Second Team All-Region Catcher.
