Women's Soccer Wins First Home Match

The PCC lady Beavers Soccer Team faced off against conference opponent Independence Community College last night at the Beaver Dam (PCC campus Field).
 
The Beaver women started out a bit flat but were able to tie up the match at halftime with one goal apiece. The second half turned out to be a shootout. The Beavers were able to jump to an early second half lead at 3-1, but soon saw that lead dwindle back to a 3-3 tie. Kayci Huslig scored the first and third goals while Gemma Whitehead put a stamp on the game with a goal of her own. The ladies weren’t done though. They rallied to take back the lead when Lauren Randell struck a ball from the top of the 18 yard box to give us the 4-3 edge. In the final eight minutes Gemma Whitehead Broke through the defense to claim her second goal of the game and give the lady Beavers the 5-3 victory.
