Musick to try new event at PCC rodeo
Hoping to help the team out and find a new event he’s good at Pratt Community College Rodeo member, Colton Musick has started steer wrestling this season.
“I originally tried it because the coach thought I would be good at it and that I could help the team out,” Musick, a sophomore from Pierre, S.D., said.
The PCC rodeo on Sept. 30 through Oct. 2 will be the first that Musick will bulldog at.
“I feel good about it,” he said. “I hope to be successful at it and continue to do it through the year.”
Along with bulldogging, Musick also calf ropes and team ropes, both which he has been doing a majority of his life. Musick said he decided he wanted to get involved with roping because he grew up on a ranch so had to do it there and also that roping was what majority of his friends did so he wanted to as well.
“Team roping is my favorite because it is what I have been most successful at,” he said.
Musick said he hopes to make the college finals this year and then join the Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association upon graduating with a degree in Farm and Ranch Management this spring.
