Women’s Soccer Team hosts two games over weekend
The Pratt Community College Women’s Soccer team had two games over the weekend.
Friday, Oct. 14, they hosted the lady Mavericks from Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa. The Beavers held strong in through the 20 mph wind gusts. The scoreless know went all the way to the 73rd minute when Lauren Randall mishit a clearance in the box and the redirected ball found its way into our net for an own goal.
“This seemed to deflate the girls, as they went on to allow two more goals before the final whistle,” Coach Jerrid Schicke said. “That just shows the importance of finishing opportunities.”
The final score was 3-0 in favor of NOC-Tonkawa.
Sunday, Oct. 16, the lady beavers hosted the Grizzlies from Butler Community College. Butler had held a national ranking as high as #3 until they were recently defeated by conference foe Hutchinson Community College. The newly #11 nationally ranked Grizzlies dominated the lady beavers on shots and possession. Holly Harrod and Kayci Huslig were able to get quality shots on goal, and Corrin Cook kept the score closer than it could have been between the posts. The final score was 7-0 in favor or Butler Community College.
The Lady Beavers will travel to Chanute on Tues., Oct. 18 for their last conference game of the season.
