Dudrey Scholarship Hall Dedication
Pratt Community College recognized Carl and Bonnie Dudrey on Oct. 25 by renaming Scholarship Hall to the Dudrey Scholarship Hall for their contributions of scholarship funds to technical students. The Dudrey’s have contributed scholarship funds to technical and nursing students.
Carl is passionate about improving life in central rural Kansas, and knows the importance of providing quality educational opportunities. He says this area has been very good to him, and that’s why he’s committed to giving back. Pratt, he says, is the only town in this area that is “holding its own,” and Pratt Community College is a vital part of that continued success. Without the college, Carl believes the community and region could falter. So he chooses to provide significant financial support every year to PCC in the form of scholarship for technical students, an investment in which he can see the results. To date, more than 35 PCC students have benefited greatly from his generosity, graduating with degrees and industry credentials for work in Nursing, Electric Power Technology, Ag Power Technology and Automotive Technology.
The Dudrey’s have been married for 31 years, and live in Stafford, Kan. Throughout the years, Carl expanded his business to include ventures in cattle, banking and alternative energies. Today he focuses on farming and banking, mostly in Pratt and Stafford Counties, and is actively involved in Kansas Ethanol, LLC, and ethanol-producing facility in Lyons (Rice County) that employs around 35 workers.
