Date change for PCC’s holiday concert
This year’s annual Sounds of the Season concert, put on by Pratt Community College’s vocal program, has had to change the date to Dec. 5 at 7:30 p.m. The concert will be held in Carpenter Auditorium.
This year, along with the two vocal groups and band performing at the concert, special guest will also be performing.
Deb Nasca has preformed the last couple of years and will do so again this year. Along with her special performance, Jack Ewing and Misty Beck will also sing that evening.
“Deb does a wonderful job singing every year so we asked her back along with Jack and Misty, who also have wonderful voices,” J.J. Rupe, choir director said.
This year’s concert has a wide variety of musical styles for the crowd to enjoy.
According to Rupe the students will sing classical and contemporary holiday music, along with two songs in Latin.
“The wide variety of music keeps the show light hearted and shows off the students many talents,” Rupe said. “The music allows the students to project so much energy that shows how much fun they are having.”
The hour long show will have about 20 students performing vocally and about 17 students performing in the band.
While cash donations are welcome at the event, this year the group is asking that people bring an unwrapped gift for Toys for Tots.
Rupe said this concert is a great way for people to get in the holiday spirit and jump start the season.
