PCC holds auditions for Hairspray

Pratt Community College will be holding auditions for “Hairspray” on Jan. 17 and 18 at 7 p.m. in Carpenter Auditorium.

The musical includes 1960s-style dance music and rhythm and blues. It takes place in the early 1960’s in Maryland, where a plump teenager’s dream is to dance on a local TV dance program. When she wins a role on the show, she becomes a star overnight and launches a campaign to ingrate the show.

Auditions are open to those 5 and older, though there will be limited parts for those who are between the ages of 5 and 12. People auditioning will need show their acting, singing and dancing skills on stage.
