Beavers Fall to Saints
The Pratt Community College Men's Basketball Team hosted the #20 Seward County Saints Wed., Jan. 11, and, once again, led for the majority of the game, but, once again, allowed our opponent to take it from us at the end.
Despite a slightly sluggish offense, the Beaver’s defense kept the game close, and they started to play more aggressively against Seward's pressure. They built a little first half lead, which they went into halftime with.
In the second half, the Beavers allowed the Saints to get back into the game quickly. When the Saints got back into the game they switched to their patented match-up zone, but they forgot to match up to arguably the best shooter in the conference, our Trae Beck, and he promptly hit three 3-pointers and the Beavers were back up by double-digits. The Saints then went back to pressing and trapping, and, once again, it got them back into the game, but this time they took the lead and never looked back. Armani Brown had a good look at a 3-shot from the corner that would've tied the game in the last minute, but it didn't cooperate, and after a few fouls and free throws the final score read 68-75, Seward County. That puts us at 9-7 overall and 0-2 in conference.
The Beavers hit the road Saturday against a tough Dodge City Conquistador team in their brand new arena.
