Softball Drops Two to Highland

 
Brenda Novelo did all she could to give Pratt a boost, but it wasn't enough to get past Highland, as Pratt lost 3-0 in seven innings at Highland on Sunday.
 
Novelo was solid at the plate for Pratt. Novelo went 1-2. She singled in the fifth inning.
 
The game's last lead went to Highland thanks to a third inning rally that saw two runs cross the plate on two singles.
 
Pratt lost 7-4 in seven innings at Hiighland on Sunday, despite outhitting Highland eight to seven.
 
Rachael Schoonmaker racked up two RBIs on three hits for Pratt. She singled in the first, second, and sixth innings.
 
The top of the first saw Pratt take an early lead, 2-0. Pratt's rally started when Schoonmaker singled. A groundout by Ashton Neumann then moved Schoonmaker from second to third. Brenda Novelo singled, scoring Schoonmaker and Kelsie Lundgren.
 
Pratt matched its one-run second inning with one more in the sixth. In the second, Pratt scored on an RBI single by Schoonmaker, bringing home Hannah Page.
 
After a quick strike from Pratt, Highland responded with two runs in the second. Highland scored on a groundout by Lauren Massey and an RBI single by Megan Plouvier.
 
The game's last lead went to Highland thanks to a fifth inning rally that saw two runs cross the plate on two singles.
 
It didn't take long for Highland to respond as it scored two runs of its own in the sixth. Highland scored on a fielder's choice.
