Speakers tell how to make best use of cell phones

Release Date:
Thursday, May 03, 2012

With cell phones having more capabilities than ever, Pratt Community College instructor Junnae Landry had Verizon employees come talk to her class about cell phone applications and how they can help the students in and out of the classroom.
Two Verizon employees came to Landry’s Web 2.0 Concepts and Applications class on April 30.

“I wanted to spend one day on it and give them someone else to talk them,” Landry said.

She invited faculty and staff to come listen to the speakers as well.

“I think it is important for people to know how to make the best use of their cell phones,” she said. “There are many ways for students to use their phones for both their personal and academic life.”

Jada Johnson from the local Verizon and Amber Hehnke with the Andover store spoke with the students.

Along with spending a day on cell phones, Landry teaches students Black Board, Google Finance and Google Doc and WolframAlpha.
