Men's Basketball at Hesston College
Your Beaver men’s basketball team traveled to Hesston, Kansas last night to take on the Hesston College Larks. The tempo was set from the tip with a Lucas Stivrins dunk on the first possession, and the fellas put the clamps on last year’s #3 (26ppg) and #11 (21ppg) scorers in division two junior college basketball after that. Well, we put the clamps on the Larks as a team, and on the #3 scorer in the country from last year, but the other kid still managed to score 29 points on us. Either way, the guys clamped down defensively holding Hesston to 52 pts, which weathered a poor shooting night from the Beavers, and allowed us to ride home with the girls at 3-0 on the year in a good mood. The final score read 68-52 Beavers. Aaron Abram led the way with 19 pts and 7 rebounds, Daylin Thomas chipped in 12 pts and 4 rebs, Kazmere Boyd added 11 pts and 4 rebs, and Lucas Stivrins scored 11 to go with 5 rebounds and complete control of the lane area with his blocked shots and rebounding. Javis Flynn also contributed what is becoming routine with 9 pts, 3 rebs, 4 assists, and 6 steals, controlling the game from 3 pt line to 3 pt line.
