The Lady Beavers hosted the number one ranked Hutchinson Blue Dragons yesterday at the Beaver Dam Pitch. The Beavers were poised and competitive holding the Dragons to only 7 shots on goal in the contest, and getting four of their own.

A few defensive miscues opened the door for Hutch to break the scoreless knot in the 25th minute. A defensive unit that was anchored by Jasmine Torrente and Yessica Rodriguez played well, but eventually gave up five total goals in the contest.

Donna Nickolay had 2 brilliant saves to keep the Beavers close. Callie Hampton and Lauren Randall were strong in the central midfield helping the team to keep pace with the Blue Dragons.

"I was extremely pleased with the girls’ performance against such a strong team," said Schicke. "We just need to make sure we show up like this every match day and we will have a good season."

The Beavers are back in action Sunday at number four ranked Butler Community College. Then, both women’s and men’s team are back at home Tuesday afternoon on September 18th at 2:30 and 4:30 respectively.
