Second half comeback falls short for Lady Beavers

Release Date:

The women’s soccer team fell at home to conference foe Barton Community College yesterday, Oct. 10, at the Beaver Pitch after some first half miscues led to a 3 - nil score in favor of the Cougars at the half.

The Lady Beavers got it together during the second half, dominating play. In the 65th minute Makenzie Weishaar played a brilliant pass from the corner kick and Holly Harrod was able to get on the end of it, heading it into the back of the net.

"The second half was a real thrill to watch. The girls were passionate and poised, and they won that half," said Coach Schicke. "We need to get the most possible points from the 3 remaining conference matches to ensure a spot in the playoffs."

The Beavers could not overcome the early deficit created and eventually fell 3-1.

Next up the Lady Beavers hope to keep their playoff hopes alive in a home match against Johnson County Community College, Oct. 13 at 2:30 p.m.
