The Pratt Community College Communication program offers several avenues for students interested in print media, journalism education, public relations, advertising, photography, radio and television broadcasting, desktop publishing, and organizational communications. An Associate of Science or Associate of Arts degree can be obtained in journalism, agricultural journalism or communications. The communication program at PCC will also successfully prepare students to transfer to a university by providing them with general knowledge of all forms of mass media, current technology used in the communication field, and desktop publishing, in addition to giving them the ability to meet deadlines, conduct an interview, write a news article, set personal goals, and communicate effectively using both verbal and written communication skills. Students may also choose to become involved in communication activities such as the student newspaper, The Pratt American, or The Beaver Media Group. For more information on the Communication department, please contact Mark Bowers at 620-450-2146 or Email. |
