Pratt Community College announces their hours for the Summer of 2017.

Summer hours begin Monday, May 22, 2017 and will extend through Friday, July 28, 2017. Operating business hours will be  7:45 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday.

Nursing

PRATT COMMUNITY COLLEGE NURSING PROGRAMS

Chandler School of Nursing, Pratt Campus

The Practical Nursing program is designed to provide the Kansas Certified Nurse Aide the opportunity to enter the nursing profession as a Licensed Practical Nurse.  Pratt Community College is accredited by the High Learning Commission. National accreditation is not available for practical nursing program.  The PN program is offered with Kansas State Board of Nursing Approval. The PN nursing program expectations include:

General Requirements
Completion of Academic Prerequisites, application, background check, immunizations, current valid Kansas Certified Nurse Aide certificate (see Admission Requirements and Nursing Program Checklist). The program starts annually at the beginning or the Fall academic term in August, is 2 semester involving 27 credit hours of course work, and completed mid May the following year.
Campuses
Ability to attend classes on campus in with Pratt or Winfield Kansas, attend onsite clinical experiences weekly and maintain successful completion of all coursework, and educational assignments.
Commitment
It is recognized that students have financial and family responsibilities.  However, it is stressed that a candidate, to be successful must devote 30 + hours per week to class work, and studies.  Without this level of commitment students will not be successful.

ASSOCIATE DEGREE NURSING PROGRAM (Paramedic/LPN to RN)

The Associate Degree Nursing program is designed as a Paramedic / LPN to RN Bridge program. The program is offered through three venues:  On campus in Pratt Kansas, on campus in Winfield, Kansas and on line as a Hybrid/Online program.  All A D N students including the online student must participate in assigned clinical responsibilities in Kansas on a weekly basis, during every week of the 2 semester program.

All nursing program graduates are eligible to take the NCLEX-RN exam in Kansas.  Additionally, all but one, known Kansas colleges and universities that offer a BSN and MSN program will accept non-nationally accredited nursing program graduates into their programs of continued study.  Pratt Community College is working toward application for national accreditation of the Associate Degree Nursing Program.  The Kansas State Board of Nursing has offered conditional approval for the program.
