"Being a hometown girl, I’ve always been involved with the Miss Kansas Pageant. I was a Sunflower Princess for years when I was little girl and one year I competed as a teen. After that, I took a year off. I went back to pageantry last year and competed as Miss Leavenworth County. This year in June, I will be competing as Miss Butler County. Between my senior year of high school and freshman year of college is when I chose my platform for Miss Kansas. My mom passed away when I was ten and my ultimate goal is to help others through tough situations such as that. That’s what my platform, “Facing the Burning Building”, is. It is about dealing with the five stages of grief and making sure that you reach the final stage, which is acceptance. Helping others through tough situations is ultimately what I am going to be doing with my life. After I finish school, my main goal is to open up my own counseling office and name it after my platform, “Facing the Burning Building.” My greatest passion is listening to others and helping in any way I can."
