Rodeo


Pratt Community College’s Rodeo Program is a vital part of the college’s Agriculture Department. The team participates in the Central Plains Region of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association. Pratt is host to one of the largest college rodeos in the state each October.

PCC women team win hometown rodeo

Pratt Community College women’s rodeo team won this year’s hometown rodeo, which took place over the weekend. Scores are still being tallied for the men’s team.

Steinhoff to participate in second rodeo since accident

“It was devastating,” said Pratt Community College barrel racer, Tanya Steinhoff. “I couldn’t believe I wouldn’t be able to ride for two years.”

Musick to try new event at PCC rodeo

Hoping to help the team out and find a new event he’s good at Pratt Community College Rodeo member, Colton Musick has started steer wrestling this season.
“I originally tried it because the coach thought I would be good at it and that I could help the team out,” Musick, a sophomore from Pierre, S.D., said.

Morris excited to see how horse will do at rodeo

After taking the summer off to finish training her young horse and get it ready for the college level, Melissa Morris is ready to see how the horse does in the arena.

Morris, a sophomore at Pratt Community College, will be goat tying, team roping and breakaway roping at the PCC Rodeo Sept. 30 through Oct. 2.

Gardner hopes to achieve goals at PCC rodeo

Growing up in a rodeo family, Mitchell Gardner always knew he wanted to be involved with rodeo and being at Pratt Community College is helping him to achieve that goal.

Gardner is a sophomore from Dover, Okla., and said he decided to come to PCC and join the rodeo team after a friend told him about the school.
