The PCC Women's Basketball team traveled to Liberal for the Seward County Classic last Friday and Saturday, coming away empty handed after defeats by Clarendon and South Plains. Pratt lost to Clarendon 51-47 and to South Plains 83-53.

In the Clarendon match-up, neither team could find the bucket. Pratt led at the half 18-16, while shooting only 23 percent from the field. Clarendon beat that however, with a 17 percent performance. But in the second stanza, Clarendon picked it up to 38 percent, and Pratt stayed steady at 23.

The Beavers' high scorer was Wyneshia Webb with 12, followed by Sasha Crosby with 11, and Liddy Friesen with 10. Friesen had a double/double with 12 rebounds. Ashley Scroggins pulled down another 11. Both teams were turnover prone, with Pratt having a 28-33 advantage.

On Saturday, Pratt was again seeing threes, but not from beyond the arc. The Beavers again shot 33 percent for the game. They did cut their turnovers significantly having only 14 to South Plains' 17.

Ashley Scroggins was the high scorer with 9. Wyneshia Webb and Sasha Crosby each added 8, with Jennifer Perkins putting in 7.

Pratt returns home on Tuesday night for a 6:00 contest against Southwestern JV.
