Despite Jordan Hammond's career high 28 points, the PCC Men's Basketball Team could not repeat their early season defeat of Northern Oklahoma-Tonkawa, falling 67-65 in Tonkawa on Wednesday night.
The Beavers had previously beaten Tonkawa by 10 on November 12th in Pratt, but with the score knotted at 65 with 3.5 seconds remaining, Tonkawa's Sam Bartlett hit two for the win. The Beavers got off to a great start, taking a 12-0 lead, but by halftime they were trailing 35-32.
Hammond contributed almost half of the Beavers' points, while Carlin Whitten, another solid offensive threat, scored 15. The Beavers have been erratic in all phases of offense in the early part of the season, but improved dramatically at the free throw line, going 26 of 32.
