The Pratt Community College Cross-Country team traveled to Marion Reservoir last Saturday for the Tabor Invitational. Several of the Beaver runners ran their way to personal best times.
Leading the way once again was sophomore Coe Hawkins, improving his personal best to a 28:54. Freshman Emerardo Suarez ran his best race of the season, pulling in a time of 30:27. Sophomore Joel Wallace dropped his personal best time to 33:55 with an impressive showing. Despite having a slight knee problem, Janet Suarez dropped over two minutes off her time from the previous week in running a 21:27.
Coach Hall was very impressed with his team’s efforts at Tabor. "To be honest, I was a little worried going into Saturday's race,” said Hall. “We were on a down week training wise. So for them to answer the bell like that impressed the heck out of me. They showed their toughness today."
The Beavers travel to Emporia State University on Friday for the Jock's Nitch Invitational. The women's race will begin at 5:00pm, with the men following shortly after at 5:40pm.
