It was an impressive debut for the Pratt Community College Wrestling Team at their first Annual Blue/White Scrimmage on Friday night in the Dennis Lesh Sports Arena. Competing in eight weight classes and one exhibition match, Pratt certainly looked ready for their opener on Nov. 4th at Labette.

"I think we're in good shape for Labette," said Head Coach Chas Thompson. "I thought we would be within 3-4 points in all classes, and that was pretty much the case. Carl Wilkinson (Pawhuska, OK) was a bit of a surprise at 285, and Colby Crawford (Pawhuska) impressed me with his intensity on the mat."

"All in all," continued Thompson, "I was pleased. Our sophomores are going to be leaders in the middle weights. We need to correct those false starts, and maybe put a little more effort into our bottom work, but otherwise I really like what we showed tonight. And I thought we had a nice crowd to show that to."

Approximately 200 spectators came to get a look at the new Pratt team, which will have its first home dual vs. Colby on November 15 at 7:00pm.
