PCC sophomore Greg Franklin broke his own school record in the 200m indoor on Saturday at the University of Nebraska. Franklin ran a 22.06 in the 200m and a 6.89 in the 60m, both good for a fifth place finish.

Last year Franklin broke the PCC indoor school record with a 22.66. His time this year was over a half second faster.

“Greg is third in the nation in the 200m and fourth in the 60m,” said Head Coach Ben Sigle. “We may take him back to Nebraska in February to challenge his speed. He responds well to challenges, so it would be another great opportunity for him.”

Franklin is looking to use his indoor success as a springboard for the outdoor season, where he faltered last year due to injuries. Even despite the injuries, he still was named to the All-Region and All-Conference teams.

“I think I can run a 21.7 outdoors this year,” said Franklin. “I also think I can hit 10.3 in the hundred. I ran a 10.4 last summer in Mobile.”
