Agriculture students have strong showing at annual NACTA contest

Pratt Community College agriculture students attended the annual North American Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture (NACTA) contest held at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas.

Our best finish was a 3rd place in the Ag Computer Applications contest. Bessie Harp, freshman from Waldo, was the top individual in the web page design portion of the contest and finished as the 5th high individual in the contest. Other team members included Dana Hillebrand, freshman from Norton, Greg Orth, freshman from Kingman, and Brad Talkington, freshman from Matfield Green.

Other PCC results included a 5th place finish for the Ag Knowledge Quiz Bowl team (Mike Holton, Allie Alexander, Travis Ross, Brad Talkington), and a 9th place finish for the Soils team (Mike Holton, Travis Ross, and Meghan Locke). Allie Alexander also competed in the Poultry Judging contest as an individual, placing 5th in the Egg Grading portion of the contest.
