Selection Criteria

Applicants who have application and transcripts submitted, have passed the TEAS, and have all general education courses completed, will be awarded points. The top applicants, according to this point system, will be accepted into the nursing program.   Students applying after the deadline may be accepted as space is available.  Listed below are the criteria and the points available in each area.

_____  1. 40 points possible for grade point average of classes required in the nursing curriculum. The GPA will be converted by moving the decimal point one space to the right (i.e. 3.5 would equal 35 points).
   
_____  2. Points for Anatomy & Physiology grade will be assigned as follows:   A = 20 points   B = 10 points
   
_____ 3. First time test-takers meeting or exceeding the 50th percentile in all sections of the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) will receive 10 points.
