Pratt Community College announces their hours for the Summer.

Summer hours begin Monday, May 21 and will extend through Friday, July 27. Operating business hours will be  7:45 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday.

Pratt Community College Honor Societies Hold Inductions

On March 3, Pratt Community College inducted 24 new members into the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society (PTK) and 11 into Kappa Beta Delta (KBD), the business honor society in a joint ceremony.

PCC Trustee Appointed to National Committee

This week, Pratt Community College Trustee Darrell Shumway was appointed to the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) new Trustee Advisory Committee.

The 26-member ACCT Board recently decided to form the Trustee Advisory Committee to provide new perspectives and insight on trustee education programs. They reached out to former board members and board chairs to serve on the committee, and ACCT Board Chair Robin N. Smith made the final selection, appointing 11 members from across the nation to the committee.

PTK and KBD Members Inducted

On March 26, Pratt Community College inducted 27 new members into Phi Theta Kappa and Kappa Beta Delta inducted six. The chapter advisers of the two honor societies presided over the ceremony, which was attended by family and friends of the inductees in addition to PCC faculty, staff, administrators and trustees.

President Calvert gave brief opening remarks and challenged the inductees to set the bar for scholarship and leadership among their peers as they continue to pursue their education.

PCC Alumnus Honored

The American Association of Community Colleges recently selected former Pratt Community College student Joseph Searles III to receive the 2014 Outstanding Alumni Award. The award is given annually to former students from community colleges who are making outstanding contributions to their chosen career fields and to their communities. Searles and the other five Outstanding Alumni Award recipients will be recognized during an awards brunch at the AACC 2014 Annual Convention in Washington, D.C. next April.
