PCC Sophomore Receives Kappa Beta Delta Scholarship

Pratt Community College (PCC) sophomore, Isaac Root, has been awarded a Kappa Beta Delta scholarship for the 2020-2021 academic school year. The purpose of Kappa Beta Delta is to encourage and recognize scholarship and accomplishment among students of business pursuing associate degrees. To encourage and promote personal and professional improvement and a life distinguished by honorable service to humankind.

On Feb. 28, the annual joint induction ceremony for Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) and Kappa Beta Delta (KBD) honored 20 new inducted members into PTK and six inducted members in KBD.

PTK new inductees were Kiauna Behee, Serena Blaske, Morgan Bullinger, Jacob Crabb, Jenna Fitzsimmons, Lori Gilley, Remyngton Green, Haley Gleason, Tal Hartley, Spencer Heise, Luke Hurt, Ashley Jorns, Dominick Kratzer, Lupe Lopez, MaKayla Michael, Brooke Smith, Garrett Smith, Tatyana Trufanova, Adam Ward, and Camryn Youngers.

PCC student receives KDB scholarship

The Kappa Beta Delta (KBD) Honor Society has announced the 2017 recipients of Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) Regions Merit Scholarships which includes one Pratt Community College business student.

Sophomore, Tyanna Hughes, was awarded a $500 scholarship which she says she will use next year when she transfers to Central Methodist University in Missouri.

“I was very excited when I found out,” said Hughes. “The scholarship will be a big help next year.”

On March 3, Pratt Community College inducted 24 new members into the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society (PTK) and 11 into Kappa Beta Delta (KBD), the business honor society in a joint ceremony.

On March 26, Pratt Community College inducted 27 new members into Phi Theta Kappa and Kappa Beta Delta inducted six. The chapter advisers of the two honor societies presided over the ceremony, which was attended by family and friends of the inductees in addition to PCC faculty, staff, administrators and trustees.

President Calvert gave brief opening remarks and challenged the inductees to set the bar for scholarship and leadership among their peers as they continue to pursue their education.
